Privacy Policy — AI Crawler Check
Last updated: October 15, 2026
AI Crawler Check is a free Chrome extension that lets you check, with one click, whether AI crawlers (such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, or PerplexityBot) are allowed or blocked in the robots.txt of the website you are currently viewing.
We do not collect any data
AI Crawler Check does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data, browsing history, or any other information about you. There are no servers involved — everything runs entirely inside your own browser:
-
When you click the extension icon, it reads the
robots.txt,llms.txt, and the<meta name="robots">tag of the website you are currently viewing, directly from your browser to that website. - The results are shown only to you, in the extension's popup. Nothing is logged, saved, analyzed, or shared with any third party, including us.
Why the extension asks for broad permissions
AI Crawler Check's single purpose is to check these files on whatever website you choose
to view it on — which could be any website. Because of that, it requests permission to
read data on all websites. This permission is used only to fetch the public
robots.txt / llms.txt files and read the page's meta tag — no
other page content is read or modified, and nothing is sent anywhere.
